Wait I’m confused for the third problem. U said 4-3 bc of [(4)-1] but don’t u have to multiply (4)-1?

Thank you for distinguishing the four step process within the order of operations cause your right the acronyms can confuse some people into thinking it's 6 steps and may make it seem that the addition and subtraction (also multiplication and division) step isn't mutually prioritize and prioritization is only based from calculating left to right.

I never had any problem with PEMDAS, but then, I'm not a mathematician. I answered all your examples before you and arrived at the same answers as yours.

Mathispoer4u, real quick question, when you had [(4)-1)], how did you get 3 for [(4)-1]? I thought would have been [(4)-1)] gives you negative -4? I though parentheses represent multiplication?

I had a test recently and one question was this.
17 + 5 / 2 - 2 * 3

b)13.5
c)13
d)22.5





The answer was C, so how do you equate it?

Something not clear here how come [15+3(-8)]= [15+(-24)] this suppose to be -5 not -24 and down here [15+(-24)]= [-9] why u multiple first n then subtract the second step and they are the same

Hi i just want to clarify something in no. 3 isnt that supposed to be 4 4 multiplied by -1 instead of being subtracted? because you used parenthesis? hehe. anyways thanks for this vid! its also a great help for me. i really just want to clarify.

Guys, PEMDAS is wrong, it should be BIDMAS {Brackets, Indicies, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction} This is wrong if you search up PEMDAS is wrong you will see several videos why it is.
