🚩 Very Impressive! Invited for dinner during the broker’s charter show, I was enthralled with the culinary talents of this year’s VIPCA 1st Place Culinary Competition Winner, Chef Neen Reynolds aboard Catamaran OCEAN VIBES! She proudly works with the the very best local farms, ensuring authentic dining experiences. Fueled by her love of connecting with the blend of cultures as well as the history of the Virgin Islands, her special dessert presented to us was “Red Grout”, which is the signature dessert of he U.S. Virgin Islands. While we think it looks like festive dessert for Thanksgiving & Christmas, this decadent tapioca and guava concoction prepared with the seeds and skins of guava fruit, is traditionally served on March 31, a USVI holiday known as Transfer Day This is a commemoration of the transfer of the islands from Denmark to the United States. Serving Red Grout is one of the highlights of the Transfer Day celebration because it was first introduced by the Danish. Wow! Dinner with a history lesson is great fun!
