I have chosen the regular mate 50
duo to the bearable notch by comparison with the balcony that huawei mate 50 pro has it on the top without giving reasons to bear it like air gestures features , huawei high prices as 4g device, sticking to just 8gb ram without even add feature to increase it by the software, using 66 watt which is same that the pro version is giving while the expected from huawei was 100 watt

Great review thanks :) waiting for the delivery of my Mate 50. A question about lighthouse, how does updating gApps work? Is it a manual process, or automated?

to be fair, Huawei has some of the best phone hardware in the market. but the loss of Google services and lack of 3rd party app support for their Harmony OS, and the added banning of access to TSMC semiconductors will sink the Huawei phone ship in a few years.

Enjoyable video to watch! Looks a very nice phone and camera! How does Mate 50pro camera compare to Huawei P50pro camera? Is their much difference? I bought p50pro recently and it's pretty dam good.
Last year I bought Huawei P40pro and its impressed me a lot. Light painting on Huawei phones is just wonderful!
I don't really miss Google services but few apps I miss like lightroom mobile and Nasa app.
Huawei say P series means profesional photography!

Hey Adam, great overview and long term review of this phone. You know what, I honestly think the only deal breaker for me is the fact that 5g isn't supported. That really sucks and it a big one as Australia really caught onto 5g and it is a big difference. Otherwise the phone is pretty alright. The notch is...
...Lets just call it concerning. Happy that they didn't add rubbish useless macro cameras. Suprised the dynamic range was bad as the older mate series weren't much of an issue. I can honestly say that as soon as Huawei returns to its former glory, I will once again be a fan. Thanks for the info and testing you provided. Have an amazing day!🙂😎

😮 I am quite shocked that you managed 12 h SOT, I bought the Mate 50 pro two days ago and I get 6 h screen on time, with not special usage, I am not playing games at all.
