" It's the sense of worth in me", love that choice of words from Harvey.

harvey keitel for all his successes still has to be one of the most underrated actors of all time

Kubrick made Keitel do 68 takes walking through a door, and Keitel flipped, said it was insane, and quit. Kubrick doesn't fire. He drives nuts. So that is what Harvey is talking about. It was witnessed by the entire crew and reported in the news the next day.

Keitel is a legend. Lends gravitas to any project he's attached to

classy and dignifying answer. Not many people think dignity is a quality anymore, they think their life as a joke, and everything is levity and comedy, its nice to see the answer of an adult

Keital is one of those actors that actually had a real life before acting.

Harvey got Reservoir Dogs made and supported newcomer Tarantino. Cinema fans owe him our eternal gratitude and then some.

Harvey Keitel is a great actor, but also is a great person. He seems tough a rock, yet he also has a kindness not many people have. And he's honest, but not stupid to say anything he have to say.
He's one of the few men who you would be proud to call father.

Harvey your talents and onscreen presence has taught me many lessons on life and provided me with coubtless hours of enjoyment. Thank you so much for your work.

But, please understand, you can't stop the spirits when they need you. That shot was more than just a redo.

I love Kubrick films, love love love them. But I'm not sure some of his methods actually made the films, or if they just generated miles of extra footage for no reason. They probably would have been the same movies either way. If you ask for 40 takes of a scene to "get it right" but not *communicate* with the actors and crew, what is the point?

For all his greatness, it does seem that Kubrick was rather sadistic, and treated his performers miserably. The drowning sequence in 'Clockwork Orange' was all too real for Malcolm McDowell, apparently. The breathing device he was wearing malfunctioned or fell off, so we are actually seeing a man panicking and fearing for his life while nearly being drowned. It is excruciating.

Then there were the eyelid I just hope M M was paid enough!
