Motorola Edge 50 Pro review

The Pro isn't the top model in the Motorola Edge lineup this time around, but it nicely slots in below flagship territory. It offers a very capable camera setup for stills with a main camera that's a champion at light gathering, a 3x zoom camera in a segment where dedicated zoom cameras are rare and an ultrawide that's got autofocus and puts it to good use. And then it tops it all off with some excellent selfies for good measure. Check out our video review to learn ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW about the phone's top features, build and screen quality, battery life, performance, and camera image quality.

This is a pretty great midrange phone tbh. Offering more than what most people need, and I especially love the fast charging. Can't wait for the Ultra!

Great work as usual but still waiting on the Nubia Z60 Ultra review

It seems the best combination of the camera system in a mid-range phone so far.

I think the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 (man, Qualcomm really destroyed their naming scheme again at this point) might have been a better choice over the "normal" 7, as it is manufactured by TSMC and therefore more efficient. Otherwise I would have preferred a larger battery. Sadly, the ultra model also limits itself to 4500 mAh. Still looking forward to that one, as Moto seems to have done a really good job on the cameras.

Just got the budget Moto G34 for my mom and she is totally loving it. Except for the 720p dsiplay, Phone is really good for the value. SD695, Android 14 and Dolby Atmos support.

On the back de camera bump looks like the Oppo reno 8 pro and the phone built more like their edge phones or Oppo find x5, I like the looks!👍

Does someone always pull your t-shirts before you start filming?

3x Telephoto is great, miss that from when I had a Motorola One Zoom. Pictures on Edge 30 Pro indoors are too dark/washed for my liking, these appear to look much more natural

Would you go for this (512gb) or Xiaomi 13t (256GB) at the same price (around €400-€415)?

I am facing an issue with the display on my Moto Edge 50 Pro. According to the specifications on Motorola's official website, this model features a pOLED display. My understanding is that with a pOLED display, pixels should turn off completely when displaying black, providing true black levels and conserving power.

However, I have observed that when the display color mode is set to "Natural" or "Radiant, " the pixels do not turn off when displaying black images or black parts of the screen. The pixels only turn off correctly when the color mode is set to "Vivid." Unfortunately, the "Vivid" setting boosts the colors excessively, which is not my preferred view

When I raised this issue with Motorola customer support, At first they said that the issue will be fixed in the next software update. But it did not get fixed in the June 2024 update. Then They asked me to submit the device in the service centre.
But I told them if this issue is with all the moto edge 50 pro devices then it will require bugfix update to resolve the issue and service centre guys may not be able to help.

Is anyone else also facing the same issue?
