077 Automating On Premises Data Gateway Installs

Gateways are an important part of Power Platform architectures. Since Gateways allow for connectivity between the cloud and on-premises data assets we want to be selective when it comes to who can install a gateway, who can use a gateway and what sort of permissions do they have with that gateway.

In this video we will cover how we can automate who is able to install gateways and what permissions they have.

Hey Kent, thank you so much for the great content! I have a question. We automated the installation of On Premises Data Gateway via PowerShell on an AWS EC2 instance. The script is pretty much similar to what you use. However, when the current ec2 instance is replaced the existing Data Gateway becomes offline even though the script checks if the Data Gateway with a specific name exists. I noticed that we need to migrate the Data Gateway for the new server which seems not possible with PowerShell but only with manual intervention through the app itself. Do you know how we can migrate through a PowerShell cmdlet? Thanks

Thanks for making video. One question. If i use interactive will it ask for the username i. Webbrowser or in powershell terminal? I wanted to install and configure the gateway using devops deployment tool and dont want any web UI for authentication. Thanks

Is it possible to use DataGateway module for adding more nodes / members to created cluster? Have you tried it?
Because I'm searching for the answer itselft but cannot find it. Also I've checked the PowerBI APIs but to no avail.
