The public education system is based on the Prussian Volkschüle.
This education system was for 95% of the Prussian population. It was designed to create obedient, compliant, soldiers, clerks( employees), and farmers...worker bees.
The other 5% were given a different education so they could be the military officers, politicians, and financial and corporate leaders.
Our system is not broken, it's doing EXACTLY what it was designed to do.
But we live in the information age! It's up to the individual to educate himself so he can obtain financial freedom. Unfortunately, it's easier to not take personal responsibility and be the victim.

I homeschool my kids. Financial literacy is one of their main courses. Started when they were in 3rd grade. They have their own “checking, savings, and credit cards.” They are now learning compounding interest. I created a prize box that they purchase from every Friday. They have to buy it with money earned during the week. They can pay with cash, check, credit card. Then they learn how they pay has a big effect on their accounts.

No one taught me money. I didn’t learn money or investing in public school. It made my first 10-15 years of my adult life very hard. My kids will know financials. We cannot set our kids up for failure. The government will not teach them what they need to know to succeed. Parents have to take responsibility with their children.

I graduated high school in 1981. In my high school years i can remember the home economics class touched on how to do a budget but spent more time on cooking and other home stuff. As a guy i found some value in it but i got more out of shop class possibly learning a future skill. Growing up the only financial talk i heard was about savings bonds and savings accounts. At 61 i have made many dumb mistakes with money through the years but i finally see the need to get my finances right. Thanks for your videos!

Its up to the parents to teach their children about personal finance. My lessons started from my first job working in Finance. I was drilled on compound interest. I also found out that credit card debt is not good. Young people are sometimes not interested in Finance until they want to buy something like a car, house, etc. The fear of math and trying to keep up with the "Jones" will keep you mentally and financially broke.
