If any of the gifts you ordered have to go through the Red Sea, it might be time to buy a backup. If you haven't heard, there has been a series of attacks carried out by Yemeni militants on commercial shipping.

*Tank seizures and shipping route vulnerabilities are events Peter has predicted before* — These nuances really opened my eyes to a different geopolitical dimension. Man! Peter is so awesome for uploading even during the holiday break! Respect!

I was surprised Egypt is not on the list, if cargo flow shift from Suez to around it, seems bound to hit the fees they normally would collect.

Thanks Peter for this timely update.
When possible could you please update us on the situation in Armenia?

I remember Peter Zeihan predicted that China would suffer piracy in the red sea many videos ago.

That's a great point Peter, the Red sea choke point is the location of the only major overseas Chinese navel base in the world, which was to protect what they see as their own shipping lane.

Sometimes you have to let things go to the point that they work against themselves while you watch and analyze. Then you can deal with it much better. At the end of the day we need to scale laser component production so we don't have to deal with this in the future. Thanks for helping people keep their cool on this Peter.

Lots of irony here. The potential to see a Russian oil shipment having to be protected by the US Navy, heading for China. Or maybe we'll get to see how good the Chinese Navy really is. Our European Nato allies would probably get serious indigestion over that one.

The irony, Iranian backed militia causing problems for the only two countries who are willing to work with them! XD

EDIT: seriously guys, 24h later I have more than 300 likes and my mail account is blowing up! Did I say something wrong?

Some of the ballistic missiles used to attack ships in the Red Sea have 1000 pound warheads.

Also, the Iranian-made clones of the C-802 anti-ship cruise missiles (the 'Noor') that've been supplied to the Houthis have warheads in excess of 400 pounds.

Both of these are being used in the Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping, along with the smaller loitering munitions that Peter mentioned.

I know you said you're taking a vacation, but I'd like to see a video about the potential Ethiopia and Eritrea conflict. I'd also be interested in a video about South Africa. Thanks!

There is also a need to note that the Panama Canal is not an option due to lack of rain in Panama reducing the amounts of traffic that route can handle.

Love your advantage. Bless you my brother. Merry Christmas

Problem is the Houthi rebels may not have the firepower to sink a tanker or containership, they could set one on fire. And a fire at sea can't be effectively fought, so there's cargo damage and potentially a sinking ship thousands of miles from a safe port or drydock. Even a small fire is potentially very dangerous.
