I've played many years, hundreds of thousands of hands, profitable early on, but been through all the pain and improved over time. This list is very accurate.

I think that's the best vlog you have done. I have taken so much from it, thank you. I saw so much of myself in it.

At least 16 of these 25 easily apply to people who will never play poker--much of it is good life advice.

I used to play for a living, and my advice to those who wanted to go pro was always play with a bankroll, stop tilting, and stop throwing away all your winnings on gambling sessions. Almost no one listened to me. They all just wanted secret tips and moves to pull.

One of the things that really turned my game around years ago was religiously recording each session i play. It forces you to face reality...it also helps you identify where and WHEN you are most successful playing and helps to identify the places and times that do not produce good results. You are forced to reflect more deeply and it makes a HUGE impact on your results. Great advice you provide in this video that will greatly help those willing to hear

Great video.

I think I might listen to this video next time i feel like I'm going on tilt.

I almost took it with pride when someone got mad at my play. I knew what I was doing and they either didn't understand my play, or where just mad at loosing.

Did feel bad about taking money off senial senior citizens though.

10 buy in downswing my arse try more like 30, just spend some time on a random EV generator even the best win rates can easily see 30 buy in downswing over a decent sample size

It was easy in 2004 lol. Now it is harder but if you are good you can. Most important thing you can do is properly table select. I know a professional who sucks. He can beat the fish but against any thinking player he loses to. He makes his money by picking the right table.

I must say, your advise is spot on. you are like a college coach reminding us to practice our drills and get the basics and mechanics down solid. you also explain that being a winning poker player is not all about the cards. much of being successful is also a mental game. do you have a forum or google chat that we can ask you or discuss hypothetical poker hands? I would even be willing to may money for your advise. You feel the most real out of all the poker "advisors" out there.

You can remove "poker" and insert "backgammon" in almost all of these... great advice.
