Even as a Michigan fan to spartan fans give Jonathan Smith some time to let him do his job and support him.. he's a damn good coach..

8-4 is a more appropriate ceiling than 7-5 given the schedule (the only two absolutely unwinnable games as Oregon and OSU; UMich will far more than likely be a loss as well but rivalry factor and no guarantee that Sherrone Moore is the guy at UMich; Iowa is no juggernaut and last years MSU team, one of the worst in school history, would’ve managed a road upset in primetime but for a generational special teams talent in DeJean blowing the game up). Likewise, if last year’s team managed four wins with ~33% of a competent head coach, then the floor for MSU in 2024 is 4-8, not 3-9. Still, Vegas pushed the over under down from 5.5 to 4.5, likely because the transfer exodus has meaningfully disrupted the DEPTH of the roster rather than the capability of the starting eleven. I think any Spartan should be contented with a .500 season barring catastrophic injury to Chiles or Jordan Hall, especially given the strong arguments you laid out that Smith will have all Spartans smiling within a couple of years. Great video!

MSU is more likely to go 12-0 than 3-9 this season. But I think 7-5 to 8-4 is most realistic considering the staff changes, players they’ve brought in, and the recent history of this team (were able to win 4 games without a HC and the worst offense/defense in the nation).

vegas has msu's win total over/under at 4.5 so these 2 should be making a bundle based on their predictions, especially if they think they're going to start the season 4-0

I'll take 8-4/7-5 in his 1st season!

east landfill wont see much effective decisions on 4th and long. smith is only a 3 star ability recruiter. and now in a tougher deal, msu will fall further!
