I’ve always felt that the Navy blazer is the single most versatile piece of clothing in a business wardrobe. Paired with white /blue dress shirts; either grey or khaki dress pants, and the right tie, and you can pass acceptably in most formal business environments. Yet change the shirt and/ or tie, along with the shoes and you can comfortably fit in at less formal events.

When I'm styling looks for men, whether on set with male actors, fashion editorials or personal clients - I like to encourage men to step out of their comfort zone with color and patterns especially with button down shirts. Navy blazers are the best at having fun with this. Try light/pale pinks & yellows and small to medium checkered shirts. Even stripes. Since we're coming into spring/summer seasons, this is the best time to play with color/prints. Have fun!

I'm a fan of wearing a blazer with a more casual outfit. My go to navy blazer accompaniments are corduroy or flannels, a plaid shirt, and brown bluchers. This is a great smart casual look, just as long as the blazer is not worsted with structured shoulders.

Also, a Winchester Dress shirt (a style were the shirt collar and cuffs are always white, regardless of the color of the shirt) offers a dramatic contrast between blazer, shirt, and tie or ascot. If wearing a French Cuff shirt be sure that the blazer buttons and the cufflinks are the same color: gold with gold or silver with silver or opt for silk knot cufflinks which can complement the color(s) of the shirt, tie, ascot or pocket square.

Great video! A navy blue blazer is one of the jackets I'm wearing every day (the other one's light grey) and I usually combine it with a white, wine red or light blue dress shirt and navy or red chinos. Ocasionally I wear a v-necked green jumper or a t-shirt under the dress shirt as well. And all styles and colors work for me
