Despite having three well known lawmakers caucusing with the Democrats in the gang creating the bipartisan proposal, no other Democrats have signaled support due to raising the full retirement age to 70. We also go over the plan to raise social security benefits by $2400 per year, lead by Bernie Sanders in the Social Security Expansion Act.

Hi Josh,

I received my April SSDI payment on 4/3/23. The Disability Trust Fund is fully funded until 2097.

You pay into Social Security while you are working. Social Security is not a means tested program.
I do not care how much a high earner receives as a benefit when that person is no longer working. That person is entitled to it. I do not want Social Security to turn into an income redistribution program. That is why Social Security is such a popular program.
