This is why I love King Sejong. He felt the pain of people and took that extra mile to liberate his people by creating a easy alphabet. Only a true king do such a good deed. Thank you very much King Sejong ❤🙏
Happy Hangul Day everyone!

It’s considered linguistically to be one of the most beautiful alphabets as the characters also depict the mouth and tongue positioning to create the sounds made. Truly a gift to Koreans and the world.
“The king’s letters” is a great k drama depicting this development.

Fun fact: the rich people were very against making the Korean alphabet because that meant the poor could read and get an education. The rich profited off the poor using their labor and more. They did not want that and were against it. but Sejong was like "IM GOING TO MAKE THIS FOR THE PEOPLE" and there we have it! haha

King Sejong helped the Korean people who weren’t in high social status to be literate because only the rich could learn. And it would only be the chinese characters from early on. Then he made it so every children and adult could be able to read and write! Such compassion as a great king!

I have zero knowledge of Korean history, but I love seeing people proud of their culture.

As a Chinese person who really likes languages in general, I was really impressed once I learned how Hangul works. It's phonetic, consistent, simple and really efficient as an alphabet.

As a Chinese, I approved cause Mandarin is a pretty hard language when it comes to writing
