Steve Holmes: Just Kick, Snare, and Hat.

Something different: Some time spent improvising to a click with just the bass drum, snare drum, and hi-hat. Starts at a medium tempo, then speeds up.
Bass drum is the Yamaha PHX series, 22". Snare is a Dave Weckl maple 14'. Top hi-hat is a 13" mid-1980's Zildjian New Beat, with a 'K bottom.

I've watched this several times. I've done the same thing many times: recorded a long attempt at groove & improvisation - while I wont tell you it's the best thing since sliced bread, I will say it really really good. Done in one take, without editing, and it's the kind of thing a bass player would love to be present for.
