I mean it is a combat reticle for human targets so while I get it’s shortcomings in your examples it’s the best for what it’s for.

What I did in the army is I would use people standing or moving around a material target and I would get the range quickly and then taking a shot. Like satellite dish for communication antennas for communications or vehicle tires parts of the vehicle that might explode if hit more than once. So I could get the range because there was always someone around to range off of. Now; if you don’t have someone standing around then you’re going to have to figure out if you know how tall something is or how why something is then you can range offered that measurement. But if we’re in SHTF which we are right now; there’s going to be someone there where we need to go or where we need to get away from. Because; the most dangerous thing on the planet is another human being. I’ve hunted them before in Iraq. I actually wish that I had ACSS retical on my scope in the Army. Although I did have a military issue SWFA 10x scope and I could use it very well. Measuring windows and doorways for range was fairly easy and quick. Ranging people was somewhat easy with it. But we had our little calculators. I’m planning on not having the calculators because I do not have The one I used. Kind of expensive LOL. Especially on a 100% disabled veterans pay which is fixed income. But I do get by and I do have some very nice tools in my locker. Great video love the channel love the information that you put out. Learn something new every day. Awesome

I'm going through a warranty claim right now with primary arms. So far my experience has been great. I had a 1-6 acss raptor on my 556 BCM. Last weekend I took a 2 day self defense rifle class with Chris at regular guy training. My rifle was knock over on concrete and the illumination knob sheered off. I still finished a day and a half of class it held 0 and worked fine minus being about to turn on illumination. Which sucked during the night portions of the class. But I emailed them takes until the end of the next day to get a reply. Sent them pics and they sent a shipping label. I just had time to put it in the mail today. I was going to get the same thing but changed my mind I'm going to get the 1-8 so they said they can give me a store credit to put towards the 1-8. They answered the phone when I called and have been very accommodating. So far I'll give them 2 thumbs up. I'll update this post when I'm done with my experience!

Just use a MOA or MRAD reticle. Works for any rifle. Works for any target. Simple to learn. Easy to use.
Edit to add: add .25" at 500 yards and .5" at 1000 yards for MOA. So, every MOA is 5.25" @ 500 yards and 10.5" @ 1000 yards.

The most common reason for a miss past 500 meters is improper range estimation. Second is improper wind holds.
The ACSS is quicker to estimate both and put a round in an enemies chest.

Finally, a good explanation that is easy to understand!
I was not finding the info I was looking for about ACSS reticles until your video, Thanks!

I still like the primary arm Prism Scope over a red dot.

Those horizontal lines measure 18" at distance, so you can actually use them to measure distance on objects and stuff too. Not necessarily just people.

My primary arms ACSS 4x14. Also has circles that are for 10” measurements If said rabbit is 10” I would use the circle that the rabbit fits in and it gives me the distance. My ACSS reticule is calibrated for 5.56 and .308. Human sized targets measured by 36”(waist up) and 18”. Btw. There is also mil dots incorporated into this ACSS reticule

I just got a holosun with ACSS reticle. Trijicon, eotech, aimpoint, and single red dots look like the number “13” to my astigmatism. For some reason if I put this reticle at the other end of my receiver I can see it crystal clear. The tip of the chevron is so sharp I’m losing sleep thinking about how much fun it will be to shoot through a sight that I can make out.

The acss reticle is best served on a 4x combat scope for combat. If you are trying for anything more precise, you’ll just want to get an optic suited for the most precise shot you will ever need. The acss is perfect for the effective range of the 5.56 caliber and man sized targets. It is designed for fast close quarters acquisition as well as slower mid range shots. Not really suitable for small targets at great distances.

I just bought a primary arms 4x14 5.56 dmr. It's great. Works great on my 5.56, mossberg predator 308, and even my bar in 270. It's amazing easy, but it's great for me and what I do.

I’ve got to set up’s; I have a savage model 10FCP-SR .308 & a Savage axis .270 (poor mans 6.5mm). The 270 is absolutely amazing at how flat the trajectory is. I’ve tried 130 grain bullets and 150 grain bullets. I like the 130 grain because it stays supersonic longer. And I have put it through body armor at close range. My buddy who reloads had full metal jacket bullets loaded into the 270 Casings. I’ll have to ask him what projectile he’s using and who makes it. He likes to keep his secrets about his hand loads. But it’s 50 yards and made a nice hole. I should’ve tested it out to at least 100 yards to see if it would still go through. I’ll have to do that next time he comes out to see me in the country.

I like the points you put forward. The only thing that’s wrong with BDC reticle is you can’t put your own custom extrapolation into it, that’s why it’s a BDC reticle, it’s good for certain perameters where you can measure distance with the reticle. If you want to put your own custom dope you will have to get one with turrets that will actually track accurately with a reticle that’s mill/mill or MOA/MOA but I understand your viewpoint. The gold of the scope is actually the reticle because it will always track accurately because it’s etched in the glass of the scope and will always hit if you do your part. They are also very affordable and made in Japan. They are known for strict QC and attention to detail.

You say 'the ACSS reticle'; but there are like a dozen versions of it. Check out the HUD - DMR or the Aurora. They are far superior to anything else in existence. One is for DMR, the other is for a combat rifle.

I prefer the ACOG myself. And this video does a great job explaining why. If I were back in the Army Infantry the ACSS would be perfect!

Page 6 of the ACSS reticle manual clearly states, "Operator of this device is responsible for any damage that may occur to said device, or actual living persons, harmed by negligence, malfeasance, contamination, in specific, or totality, through either the lawful, or unlawful use of this device. Manufacturer reserves the right to exclude use of this device by all persons not holding an advanced degree in theoretical ballistics, or behavioral psychology. Please refer to addendum Bii (not included in this manual) to be included in future litigation proceedings. Please, don't worship Satan, as it may lead to site wobble in rare circumstances."
Well, so much for that.

Yes the acss reticle is defensive. I just mounted a primary arms 1-6 on a Mauser style 30-06 hunting rifle for a friend. The rifle doesn't have any iron sights.. so its awesome to have 1x.. he's not experienced with rifles, so this should get him on target without someone holding his hand.

The better something is at Thing A, usually, not always, but usually, the worse it's going to be at Thing B, all other things being equal. I don't think the ACSS reticle is bad, it's just meant to do some specific things.

I don't think I'd turn to the ACSS reticle to hunt deer, for instance.
