Just got mine done, and let me tell you, I anticipated it to be a lot worse. Having an amazing gynecologist really helped, she was so supportive and gentle with finding a good comfort level. Overall a much better experience than going to the dentist in my opinion!

Getting my Pap smear for me was VERY uncomfortable I wouldn’t say it was painful tho. My tip for y’all is:
1. Make sure to ask the GYN for the smallest speculum that they have because they have one for virgins especially if it’s your first time getting a Pap smear.
2. Relax and take deep breaths the procedure is less than 3-5 mins you will be alright.

It’s crazy because I actually went to my Pap smear appointment by myself I took it like a champ. It was so uncomfortable I scream just a lil not like dramatically but it was a weird feeling when they swipe the cervix 😂

I have one today and I a little scared. I’ve switched primary care doctors and my first one that did a test back in 2022 it hurt so bad. I was screaming and pushing back but then I went to a gyno cause the test came back abnormal and that one didn’t hurt bad at all. That test came back clean thank god

There is no way the brush is that soft or it wouldn't be able to pick any cells.

A biopsy is far worse smh I have had two and screamed and cried...I had my pap today, I did tense up and it isn't fun but it's brief and I have a very good obgyn that makes me feel comfortable and is very compassionate.

My pap smear caused alot of bleeding i had alot of cramps afterwards but wasnt super painful just very very uncomfortable

Just got his done and it wasn’t painful at all. If anything it just felt a little weird when the Dr inserted the tube but I didn’t feel any pain or scratching
