Interesting. If Russia would divorce itself from Western economies, why are so many western businesses still operating in Russia, and why is Kiev being urged not to strike Russia's oil production by the West? There is a problem in logic here I think that can only be cured by destroying completely Russia's capability to pump and refine oil and natural gas to allow Russia to ween itself from that evil Western trade and money.
I wonder if the author of that piece, Demitri Trenin, had thought his position out very well. Given the green light, the West could sure as hell oblige him.

I hope to see comments Monday on the post-strike satellite imagery. ISW has said: “ISW has not yet observed any visual confirmation that Ukrainian forces damaged or destroyed aircraft or infrastructure at any of the airbases.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged the challenging conditions faced by the country's armed forces, describing the situation on the battlefield as "difficult" during an interview with local media. He highlighted that the eastern region of Ukraine remains the focal point of approximately 90% of active military actions.

In the same media address, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, echoed Zelensky's sentiments, emphasizing the difficult situation experienced by Kyiv across most of the combat contact line.

Russian forces launched 88 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory over the past day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) said on social networks on Sunday.

"In total, the enemy launched 10 missiles and 88 air strikes, and carried out 71 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas, " the statement read.
