No more! NetEase has announced a brand new upcoming AAA-budget MMORPG titled "Project Ragnarok" launching completely cross-platform between PC, Consoles and Mobile devices.

0:25 to be fair the main reason consoles get left out is the console manufacturers making the development process hard on the developers. It's 5x easier to do a cross platform game for PC/Mac/Linux/Android/iOS than it is to get that same game running on Xbox/PlayStation. Especially if you're doing multiplayer and especially if you're going for cross platform multiplayer.

It already sounds gimmicky. Like I dont really care about scaling clifftops like a rock climber. I really just want good gameplay and class design and the world should feel open and able to be explored. The reason we liked WoW so much was because there were little to no loading screens which made it feel like an actual world. You could go from the top of the continent to the bottom without a loading screen. And it felt like you could do whatever you wanted. I need someone to capture that magic again.

Every Asian MMO looks like the same studio is creating them. Lots of lolis and overly flashy spell effects that up end blinding you in groups of other players.

Honestly I find it pretty cool the way mmorpg are going these days, cross-platform, emphasis on mouvement and all of that.
But I have seen dozens of trailer that looks like that and when I hear mobile with that form of trailer I know it ain't gonna be pretty.
Announcing a game is fine but you gotta have something to show for it, not just an animation done in a totaly different grahpic engine with vague representation of game mechanics.
It just makes it seems like a cash grab p2w game that will somehow live on because peoples are paying for whatever crap they're selling...
Edit; Forgot to say that the animation aren't even that great! Sometimes you see the models going 15 fps for a few seconds, camera work based on "gameplay" and so are movements, making it just a bad trailer.

This hardcore reminds me of those generic auto play mmo trailers that hugely mislead with their gameplay “footage” the only thing missing from the second trailer is the level up and power increase effects

Seriously. The day a korean or chinese company gets actually involved with a west company like Ubisoft or Bioware in the creation of an MMORPG, were both openly participate in the creation of such game, that day the next MMO legend will born. If we can get those incredible, breathtaking graphics, even the quality in the engine and the desgins of Black Desert with something truly western like World of Warcraft... Imagine the posibilites.
