Klein Pocket Precision Screwdrivers: Closing in on Perfection regardless of choice

The Klein Pocket Precision Screwdrivers are all top drawer precision screwdrivers. The switchable bits barely increase the shaft size, and the quality Klein handles of their big brothers are scaled down only in size, not in performance.

I know of three models. A conventional switchable bit design, one with a reversible length shaft that includes extending shaft cover, and a 14 in 1 design.

Basic one:

Doc, flatten out some copper capillary tubing or solid 12 or 14ga wire, and wrap it around the shaft near the plastic. Leave a decent tail(s) on it. Do that on both sides of the desired bend. Clamp them on with small vise grips for good contact. The heat getting past the sinks shouldn't be enough to damage anything. Get it red hot and make your bend and quench. Reheat to straw color to temper if needed. Then remove your heat sinks. Should only take a few minutes total. The copper may work harden during the wrapping process. Just heat the copper momentarily to soften it and quench. Copper and brass won't harden during quenching so you can do that over and over. Soak it in vinegar for a few minutes and rinse to remove scale buildup from heating for best heat transfer.

One part of Klein I don't like is they mix in proprietary bits. They at least are trying. Hope they watch your reviews
