Former ballerina Ashley Benefield is accused of killing her husband, Douglas Benefield, in September 2020. The Florida couple were in the middle of a heated custody battle when Ashley shot Doug. Prosecutors believe Ashley murdered Doug so she could gain full custody of their young daughter, however, Ashley claims she shot Doug in self-defense after months of alleged abuse. The medical examiner does not believe Doug was facing Ashley when she fired off four rounds at him.

Why doesn't anyone ever tell these people that when you cry your supposed to have actual tears? What a performance

She must have got her acting skills from Amber Heard. 😂

One Lesson For All:
Don't marry someone you barely know.

My gut overwhelmingly tells me she's lying.

Ashley was convicted of manslaughter on Tuesday.
This is probably the first time she’s been held accountable for her terrible behavior.

So after her testimony she’s over there laughing with her lawyer 🤔 guess she don’t have to act anymore

I'm confused on why she states on the stand that she ran to the neighbosr to get help for Doug, but on the 911 call she never once says Doug needs help, just that he's trying to kill her.

The defense is forgetting he raised a daughter for 15 years with zero abuse. I hope the prosecution is going to bring that up.

I don't know anything about this case, but her attorney guided her perfectly into a state of emotional torment. Well played... well played. At this point, I am more annoyed by this act than feeling sorry for her.

All I’m going to say is any man that knocks an innocent dog out by punching him in the face, slings a cat down the stairs, punches holes in the wall, waves a gun around at his wife shooting into the ceiling, marries a woman after 13 days before telling his 15 yr old daughter who recently lost her mother ……. is a real prince of a guy🤮. This man was an abusive control freak, and wanted an extremely young trophy wife to bully! I’m not a victim of DV, but I don’t need to be to know when a man is a violent person who doesn’t respect women, and I’m not even bringing up emotional abuse that his texts seemed to indicate as well.

I zoomed in and not one single tear. Also, when one is crying with tears rolling down the face, it's almost an instinctive reaction to wipe the face, chin, nose, etc because the feeling of non stop tears is bothersome. She is sniffing with a dry nose and, at no point, she wipes her face; only when she's told there are tissues and then she remembers to pretend to do it. Im sorry but this lady isnt upset by what she did. It’s an act for the jury.

I hate to say it. She looks guilty. She sounds guilty. She didn’t shoot him in defence. She shot him outright. !!

The sniffing without any tears, the meeker than a church mouse voice, the "I didn't want to be married because I was terrified but I let him come pack my bags" seems a bit convenient

The moment she's off the stand, she's back to normal. There's something creepy about her, oh yeah she murdered someone.

She should've just left when he was in the garage. She isn't believable. Very manipulative.

The fake crying is the worst of any testimony I've ever seen.

I'm actually starting to see the reasonable doubt. He admitted to punching a dog, firing a gun, hitting walls and tracking her. She may have a screw loose but she was likely actually in fear too.

Oh damn that prosecutor had me laughing trying to get her to demonstrate 😂. Not one person in the courtroom looks like they're buying her act lol
