How to change the serpentine belt (AKA drive belt) on a Toyota Landcruiser 100 Series (model UZJ100R), or Lexus LX470, with 4.7L 2UZ-FE V8 petrol engine, year models 1998-2007. This video can also be used for other models with the same engine, found in the 4Runner, Tundra and Sequoia. This ribbed V belt drives the waterpump/fan, alternator, power steering and air conditioning compressor.

Parts used:
Serpentine Belt – Toyota 90916-02586, comes labelled as Mitsuboshi 6PK2240
(Substitute for Toyota 90916-02463)
Belt specification:
6 = number of ribs
P = Metric
K = Automotive
2240 = Effective length of belt (mm)

Tools used:
10mm and 14mm metric sockets
Socket wrench with extension to suit above socket

Recommended Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- Safety glasses
- Gloves

My LX470 threw a Serpentine Belt today and this video contained all the information required to get the belt back on. Only feedback would be what are the implications if this belt fails.

I've learn alot in your videos really detailed and easy to understand as you explain sequentially. In future video I'd like to see you replacing rocket cover gasket and the rubber boot protecting the wheel arm joint [whatever its called] in 100 series. Great video. I have the belt and now the how to. Def keeping the old belt for a spare. I think I have the same bumper on my Lx470 1999. It's an TJM.

When i Unplugged my air cleaner mass sensor and reinstalled the plug, I got an engine warning light and i had to get it reset cause it picked it up as unplugged. Lexus LX470 07

HI IM FROM AFRICA MOZAMBIQUE, PEMBA, AND HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY RADIADIATOR GOT SOMEONE TO CLEAN IT UP, WELL WHAT HAPPEN WAS THAT WHILE HE WAS CLEANING, HE WENT TRUE UP TO THE COOLER SO ALL THE MUD AND WATER ENDED UP TO THE GEARBOX . WELL WHEN I GOT TO KNOW . THE GEARBOX IT'S NOT ENGAGING. I OPEN THE COVER ON THE BOTTOM AND FOUND A LOT OF MUD AND WATER FROM THE RADIATOR. PLEASE ADVISE HOW CAN A FLASH THE GEARBOX .

The Toyota manufacturer calls it a timing belt but the OEM label states its a serpentine belt. Why is that?
