Those Dune editions are gorgeous. That’s the first time I’ve seen the Messiah and Children covers. They are GLORIOUS! Everyone read the Dune sequels! The first book doesn’t mean as much without them.

Speaking of dune, I was unhauling some duplicates of books I had and the library wouldn’t take them. So I went to 2nd and Charles. While I was trading in some books I overheard 2 guys looking for dune and the store must have not had copies. Luckily my 3 extra paperback dune copies where still in the car because I had 2 boxes of books. Told the guys to meet me outside and I just gave them to them. Makes me happy to see that they will get to enjoy my favorite series.

—Oh wow! The Giver brings back memories. I read it back in middle school and it was a very good experience. I have not read the sequels. I hope you like it!
—As a sci-fi fan, I am embarrassed to admit that I STILL have yet to read Dune.

I love The Giver!!! I thought I was a horrible writer in middle school until one of my teachers did a writing competition to write an alternate ending for the Giver. I won and my teacher totally changed my life and helped me have confidence in myself!

Incredible book haul, Mike. That deluxe edition of Dune is pretty slick! And hey, glad I could help with The Will of the Many, man. To be fair, chatting with Saga Press always felt like a mystery to me, too. I hope you'll love the book! It's definitely a better start compared to The Shadow of What was Lost (which I love very much)! :)

I somehow got either offered or approved for The Will of the Many and started it. So far, about a quarter of the way through, and it is great. The writing is great and the plot so far, is terrific. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

Love those Dune editions. Halfway through a first read of Dune and it might be blasphemous to say, but I love being able to put the faces to the names. Such a faithful telling in the movie so no surprise you loved it. Recently finished Iron Gold, and Misery!

I've never heard of The Paternus Triology, but I am sold! Percy Jackson is the series that made me fall in love with reading, and I reread it frequently, even as an adult. I need to get my hands on Rise of Gods. 😄

My birthday is in April, so for my birthday I got Before They Are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie, The Faithful and the Fallen by John Gwynne, and the Earthsea Cycle the illustrated hardcover by Ursula K Le Guin.

I purchased the full set of Malazan and finally got all four hardcover versions of Stormlight. I finished book 3 of Malazan and have been reading some novellas to break up the density that is Malazan

The Giver is such a great one, although it has been years since I read it. It should be a quick read for you! :)
I am hoping to get to Dune later this year. Great haul!!

Love the new Dune editions. My birthday is coming up in June and I may have the wife put those on the list. Read a couple of big boys in April, started with Swan Song and then The Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky, I highly recommend this one if you haven't read it yet.

Now I'm going to slow down a bit with Dresden number 5 Death Masks and finally The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Looking forward to some summer reading next month. Thanks for all you do, Mike. You keep recording and we'll keep watching.
