Thin film interference and the beauty of soap bubbles

I got distracted while working on a high-speed photography project and became interested in thin-film interference, so I thought I'd make short video about it!

If you're wondering why I haven't posted any videos in a while, let me explain. A little over a year ago, I quit my job, and started sailing around the world on a small sailboat. As such, making and posting science videos has been all but impossible. However, I have found some time recently, and am excited to be able to produce a few videos with it. Enjoy!

I was reading a Brief History of time from Stephen Hawking and in the 4th chapter he describes thin film interference, but I hadn't quite grasped the concept from the book's explanation alone. I came to youtube in search of a more detailed explanation that I could cope with because of my low level of physics knowledge. After watching your video it all just "clicked" and it makes perfect sense now. Thank you for the amazing explanation and phenomenal visuals. =)
