Here I will go over a common scenario with merged cells in Excel, show you the big problem that it can cause, and then show you a few ways to solve that problem.

Merged cells in Excel are a great way to improve the look and feel of a spreadsheet, but you do have to be careful because the cost of making a good looking spreadsheet is, often, making it very difficult to use or apply formulas to on a large scale or in an efficient manner.

This video almost helps solve what I'm trying to do but I can't figure out yet how to apply the logic that is needed.


My goal is to run a macro based on results withing a cell, not just a change. Here is how my spreadsheet is set up.


A worksheet named "Launching_Pad" has data updated every 15 minutes.

There is a formula inside C12 from "Launching_Pad" when the results of C12 are greater than > 250 or less than < 250 I would like a macro named "Master_Refresh" to run automatically.
