Thanks! It helped me set my XBee's up, even though they weren't exactly the same. I struggled at first because I didn't have an adapter... the order time for one would have been 2+weeks, so I did battle trying to create one from odd's and ends, eventually realized that you don't need an adapter if you have the official Arduino Wireless Shield! (mine has SD card) Please see the official web page for it, it's very helpful. I configured my XBee's using it, and loaded different firmware! :)

would like to see a tutorial for sending data in the other direction - from remote sensor to PC.

Make sure when you do this you use the right modem, function set and version setting before you write it to your xbee. I am using series 1 and used the default that showed up on the screen and it ended up bricking one of my modules and it took 2 hours to figure out how to fix it.

Thanks for the video.. I now feel better about buying it at "the shack" as a package deal. they sell both the sender and receiver. Do you know if a Ardunio wireless SD shield has the same functions as the sparkfun shield, just without the SD added? Great stuff and thanks for the tips with programming the pair..your right, its good to know before you waste a weekend trying to connect two units...

Been using mine for a few weeks 24/7 w/Xbee S2 2mW and I haven't run into any issues with the shield - only using the tx/rx pins on the Xbee, though.
