Jesus taught in the Bible that we must forgive others in order to repent and be forgiven by God for our own sins. That can feel easier said than done. But Chris’s story shows how even in the most difficult of circumstances, we can turn to Jesus Christ for the strength to forgive others and let go of anger.

I wept for this man. To lose over half of your family in what could have been prevented then for him to forgive the man who did this. That is the true definition of Christ's love. My soul is filling with this love that Christ offered us on the cross and his resurrection.

The ward of Brother and Sister White was my home ward, and I know them and Cameron. I was on my mission when these events occurred. My parents wrote me about this, and a short time later, it was in the church news. It was incomprehensible.


A truly terrible tragedy, yet the father of the destroyed family was truly amazing in his determination to forgive Cameron immediately because the man knew his wife wouldn't want him to hold on to hate. Cameron's life could have been lost as well due to prison and self-hate if there was no forgiveness, all due to a mistake of drinking once in his life.



The Gospel of Jesus Christ and His love is the greatest gift.
