I don't think Switch Sports is as bad as many people make it out to be. It's not them trying to kill the Miis or attempt a cash grab. It just suffers from what all the Mario Sports games on the Switch suffer from: a lack of substantial content compared to the Wii versions of the game in exchange for an online mode with features from previous games being added in as free updates.

The fact that they could fix so many issues with the game by porting Resort as DLC:
- 12 sports with multiple side modes each
- Miis as the main focus on Wuhu Island while Sportsmates remain dominant in Spocco Square, making everyone happy

Oof yeah Scott’s pic in the thumbnail is how I certainly felt with Nintendo Switch Sports. It’s not bad but it coulda been so much more and better if not for some questionable decisions with its presentation and mechanics.

The badminton requires you swing the racket harder than what feels necessary compared to real life, I've missed a few swings.

It was fun for the first few weeks, but then got tired of the gameplay loop and went back to Wii Sports and Resort. Two offline games had more fleshed oit gameplay imo

Honestly for me the controls didn't work all that well for chambara. Like I'd be blocking vertically and I'd try to do a horizontal slash, but the dude would attack kind of in-between where I was blocking and where I was swinging and I'd hit the opponent's guard.

3:06 wii sports was meant for the whole family to play so its very weird to have a game with complex controls
