Multiplying Decimals is easy
To multiply decimals, first multiply as if there is no decimal. Next, count the number of digits after the decimal in each factor. Finally, put the same number of digits behind the decimal in the product.

Ok im genuinely confused. Every school teaches us this method for multiplying decimals
Even my sister who was in school way way way before me, was taught this

Whats the other method that is taught in schools?

For numbers this low there is an easier and more logical method to ascertain the position of the decimal place. Just multiply the whole numbers and determine that it is a bit more than that. For example in the last calculation just multiply the 16 and the 3, the answer is 48.0. So you know that the answer is in this area and therefore the decimal place is after the 2nd number.
