Unclog your sink with a plunger! #plumbing #drain #kitchen

Make sure when doing this you don't put excessive force on the sink as you can blow out the trap or drop the whole sync into the cabinet

I would also be careful if you have a garbage disposal hooked up make sure you run it at the same time.

it’ll likely cause fittings to leak at least with the plunge force. Just tighten then before and after and clear out under the sink to catch any waiter. If the blockage is in the trap or further it may just blow the fittings apart without clearing the blockage - whichever is weaker

A family friend “plumber” did that to my house. The fittings underneath are slip tightened, so the P-trap slipped off and water was all over the floor. He doesn’t do plumbing at my house anymore. That was enough for me to learn plumbing. There are plenty of tips and tricks on YouTube. This is not one of them.

You don’t need a plunger for this. Just use the stopper on the sink without the disposal and push down on it very hard. At the same time turn on the garbage disposal and it should clear. I found this tip on another video where the guy took apart the pipes under the sink but this saved me some money and time! If it doesn’t work just keep trying or the clog may be deeper in the pipes.
