While all praise is due to all the MF and KD guitarists through the years, let's not forget that the King actually wrote a lot of those riffs himself. He's a highly respectable riffmaster and rhythm guitar player.

Mercyful Fate is definitely proto-black metal, but the actual music itself is traditional heavy metal inspired by progressive rock with blackened lyrics. King is a huge Rush fan, and it really shows in their sound! 🖤🤘🏼🔥
