Love this raw tone that is somehow only available with Marshall! Thing is it’s not even something related to build quality and component quality, likely the sound we got used to on countless records.

In Europe this amp is considered to be a somewhat affordable very basic amp, yet the rawness and punch is even better than Friedman IF there’s attenuation or a mod like this involved.

My main goal is to capture sound and play in a studio environment. Am I right assuming I’ll get the same awesome tones with a stock 1987x loaded down with a Suhr Reactive Load or a Fryette Powerstation?

Cool video! PPIMV is key with these amps. Without one, they are un-usable, unless you have some huge venue, or, an isolation booth in a studio.

If the master volume could sweep over its full range from 0 to 1 you would get a lot of resolution in the saturation zone. Then boost w/ a DI pre amp like a BAE DMP 1073.

Thanks for the content Mark! Have you played the 20watt Marshal Studio series (sv20h)? I would love to get your take on these as I went the sv20h and 2525h route for a more affordable stereo setup. Sometimes I wonder if I'm missing out.
