I once had a pug, my parents got him as a puppy for me and my older brothers when I was only 4 years old. We named him Rocky, and he was the most energetic and silly fat-faced doggo I ever met lol.
Years later, I grew up with him more and more, but as I grew up with him, I was realizing with every passing year, that he was getting older and showing more and more signs of old age as the time passed.
So when I was 10 years old, he grew too old for us to take care of anymore, he kept getting ear infections no matter what we tried to do, started getting cataracts in both eyes, and wasn't as energetic as he was before since he also developed slight arthritis in his hips. This meant that we had to give him away to an adoption center. I didn't go with my parents to drop him off because I didn't want to cry.

Five years later, already moved to a different place to live since then, I was taking a stroll in a nearby park from my home. I met an older woman who was walking her old, grey and scruffy looking pug alongside her. I looked at the pug smiling when the lady approached me to say hello, and told me that the pug wouldn't harm a fly. I bent down to greet the dog when suddenly, the pug sprinted up to me and basically jumped into my arms, licking my face in pure happiness. The lady said "I've never seen him do this before, it's like he knew you before!" I thought about that for a second and said to the pug, "Rocky?" And it barked in happiness to me in response. I asked her where she got the dog and she replied by saying that she got him from a nearby adoption center, and even said that she took care of his ear infections so that they were only mild.
And right then and there, I realized that I crossed paths with my old pug again after 5 years later. This news still makes me so happy and surprised, as it was such a lucky encounter. I'm glad that he was in the right hands, and I'm glad to at least saw him one last time before saying another final goodbye. ❤🐕
