NASA Detected The Most Powerful Explosion In The Solar System

In October 2022, during the Orionids meteor shower, a fireball was captured on camera in North America. Other meteors left long streaks of glowing debris in the sky. A little earlier, in March 2022, an asteroid crashed into Earth's atmosphere, and was captured by one of the meteorological satellites. Fortunately, the asteroid, named 2022 EB5, was only 2 meters [6.5 feet] wide, so it didn’t result in a catastrophe.

But not all cosmic collisions are so safe. Some of them are powerful enough to damage planets or even lead to their destruction.

What explosion captured on camera is hundreds of times the power of our entire nuclear arsenal? Which cosmic explosion left a void the size of many galaxies around it? And what single meteorite triggered the creation of an Earth defense program?

I find it somewhat unfair to call Jupiter a “failed star” Had Jupiter succeeded in becoming a star life probably wouldn’t exist here.

I think a gamma ray burst is the one that is more dangerous us. We have to remember that these things happen "everyday" in the cosmos.

I find it funny that objects in space that travel past Earth millions of miles away are considered to be Near Earth Objects

You really cant do squat against a supernova, but at least we have a chance against an asteroid.

Happy New Year To Everyone🧡. Hope this year brings you more joy than sorrows.

Correct me if I am wrong, I am far from very educated on the subject, but isn't Jupiter a big reason why we don't get hit by huge asteroids? Something about it being so huge and having such a big gravitational pull that it drags away any such dangers from crashing into us?

Without Jupiter in our solar system we would’ve been long gone, Jupiter magnetic field is powerful to bring any asteroid over Jupiter, I am great-full for a planet like Jupiter its our body guard I know it can’t protect us from everything, Jupiter is amazing planet despite it can’t hold life go our neighbour gassy planet!!!

"So, how powerful was explosion 💥 "
"So much that, gamma rays alone would turn all living beings into ashes

You do plan to eventually have a real show about this solar system, right.

I kinda want the earth to blow apart just so I can be here to see the end

Gamma ray burst? Or asteroid?
I don't know. I don't spend my days obsessing over Earth's destruction.

There was at least one asteroid impact that happened on Earth. African region, although I don't remember much. I was surprised to see that you did not even make any mention of asteroid impacts that have already hit Earth.

They call it a failed star because they don’t wanna mention if it collects enough it’s going to become a star.

It’s weird how all the “fragments” chose a single file line… 👽 🛸 😂

Short of putting people miles underground, a supernova explosion would not be survivable.

In the distant future Jupiter will become an star, that because his inner core will be activate by expanding sun radiation and in this way the fusion reaction of Jupiter hydrogen inner core will start.!

IF the Earth is Falling towards the Sun & so too was this Object. Why did the Object not do as everything else does and do at least a few Laps around the Planet instead of going Directly straight into Jupiter instead. Was it shot out of a Cannon?
