Now we have few vendors, often less than 10 in a field, and consumers are persuaded by emotions, non-logical ads and PR.

Generally, I wouldn't mind about people having a smart and wise leader to rule over them so much given everything I've come to understand about the nature of man. Men, by nature are followers, afraid of the dark and unknown, and the world is a scary place for them -- avoiding pain at every turn. And it is by nature needed, that a leader should rise up to care for his people, but sadly, I'm afraid that our "leaders" today are not who they seem. They're wolves with sheep masks, and we the people are fooled, but for the vast majority of us, it's okay, because we feel safe.

Creating a idealised consumer life style has been used as an advertising tactic for many, many years. It requires you to think critically. The problem does not lie solely with the corporations which use such tactics but the consumer that is receptive to them. Learn how to think critically, be open to the arguments of the opposing side and gain better reading comprehension. It’s not a secret that TNCs do this, it’s taught as low as primary school. Sinister? Perhaps. It works because the population allow it to work.

The Christian community leaders as in pastors and elders have done a very good job of twisting this type of scripture into what they want to see or manipulate people. I have put this back into linguist to call proper Greek back into English.

I have spoken to many people over the years, in various denominations, both leaders and the people they lead, about Hebrews 13:17. These are generally the answers that I receive, and some people are so confused about Hebrews 13:17, that it is hard for them to articulate and communicate what they understand about it, into words.

1. Obey us and submit to us (insinuating, basically blind obedience).
2. If you do decide not to obey us, God will judge you personally and you may have something bad happen to you. In obeying and submitting to ours, it will go well with you. We are only looking out for your best interest.
3. If you do obey us, you will be successful spiritually and financially. If you decide not to obey and submit to us, your family may fall apart, a disease may befall you etc. We are only looking out for you and your family.
4. Your days on this earth may be shortened. You do want a long life on this earth don’t you?
5. In obeying and submitting to us, we watch over your souls and this will be beneficial to you and your spiritual walk.
6. We are going to give an account to God for your soul. You do want us to give a good account before God, don’t you?
7. In your obedience and submission to us, it will give us joy, otherwise you will cause us grief. Please don’t cause us grief in the Lord.
8. If you cause us grief, that would be a unprofitable for you. We are only looking out for you, so if you obey and submit to us it would be profitable for you.
