Kurt version as he's playing chords to the tempo of Leadbelly's clapping and also since this was recorded at Reciprocal Recording Seattle WA with Jack Endino In August 1989 Kurt would have been playing his White Univox Hi-Flier (that Kurt's girlfriend Tracy bought him) And Kurt played it on the last show of the Bleach USA Tour with Jason Everman In the band, which was on July 18, 1989 - Pyramid Club (New Music Seminar), New York NY.

Lead Belly's is a joyous celebration of his faith. Kurt's is a sad, angry jab at all the bigots who use Jesus & religion for their own gain or hatred. Both are the best version.
