Asso Protector Tapered Shockleader Review

Показать описание
Disclaimer: This is an unbiased review and lines could vary between different batches. I have purchased this myself and this is what I have received so this is what I have tested. Break tests and other specs vary depending on how manufacturers test their lines.
Here I review a shockleader line to see if it really lives up to its advertised specs.
Asso Protector Tapered Shockleader
0.38mm - 0.75mm | 18lbs - 70lbs
Timecodes
0:00 - Hello Fishing Buddies!
0:05 - Intro Video
0:50 - Asso Protector Tapered Shockleader
0:57 - How much does it "remember"... get it?
1:06 - How thick is it?
2:08 - Reactivity to UV Torch
2:29 - Preparing opposite end lengths for the Break Test
3:00 - Break Test...
3:58 - Casting with it
I test my lines with knots as I feel it is the closest way I can mimic the lines being used the way they are used in fishing... with knots tied to end tackles like hooks, swivels, clips, etc.
And in this video, I am pretty impressed with the thinnest section of the this tapered shockleader as it broke above its advertised breaktest of 18lbs - even with knots.
As for the thickest section, it does not really surprise me because when I tested their "Ultraflex" shockleader - that, too, broke at less than half of its advertised break test with knots and just
over half of its advertised break test without knots. Atleast this one fared better even if its diameter is thinner than the ultraflex.
I recommend this shockleader.
