In this video I am demonstrating the Gretsch Brooklyn Series Steel Snare. This is a real versatile snare that could be your workhorse metal drum. A beautiful looking drum with that great Gretsch sound. What could be better then that?

This drum is a rolled 2.0mm, 6.5" x 14" steel drum shell with a very shiny chrome finish. Gretsch added a nice looking little touch to the shell by giving it a center knurled pattern. Coupled with fantastic look are the Gretsch "302"- 3mm double flanged hoops, their lightning throw-off, and the Gretsch standard 30-degree bearing edges. All the components come together for a wonderful sound that is inspiring to play on. The drum tunes high or low very easily. Go down low with a little dampening and you get a dark thud, but you don't lose any sensitivity. Cranked up high, the drum has a beautiful loud crack.

This Gretsch Brooklyn Series Steel snare drum brings amazing looks and sound to the table. Don't stop shopping for your next snare drum without checking this beauty out. Thanks for watching!

Excellent. You should do the multituning to all snare drum demos. Everyone would appreciate that.

I have that snare! It's killer. I put 42 strand snare wires on it and I can honestly say it's the best snare I've ever owned.

One of the best sounding and value steel snares..
What is the quality of the heads and snare wires.
They often get overlooked in previews...

6.5 or 5.5 I'm struggling to decide?

Not seamless! Does that make a difference in sound??? Probably not but at least Ludwig does it on there Medium to High end snares.
