I agree! Bridge BBM is really nice but a native BBM app would just be purely awesome.

Focused usage. Secure email, secure messaging, long battery life. Its a device that appeals to focused people. Who needs a ton of apps that don't really do anything but waste time. If I'm on a phone its to handle business. Email, calendar, messaging, and phone are the only apps I need.

I'm not even a blackberry user and I like the functionality of it. My boss, an avid BB user just got an iPhone on the Verizon network and she's not that enthused and misses the keyboard terribly. I think this may bring her back home to BB land. When's it coming???

blackberry is in panic mode. Right now its main goal is to keep its current users. It has to impress its own fanbase first. If it does that it can slowly venture into retrieving former users, and eventually users of other devices. A tough road but deffinetly achievable. Ive been using Iphones for the past 5 years now and love it. They would have to step up and hit a homerun to convert me into using a blackberry.

You have to understand that not everyone is going to want to have an iphone or a driod. The blackberry 10 phone is not finalized the one that was release to developers is just a watered down version. When it does come out it will be better and it can compete.

For HD video, the droid recording and sound quality on playback is crappy. Maybe some of the newer droids are better. I do not see anything wrong with a longer or more square phone - due to a physical keyboard with a larger screen. That would at least allow blackberry to stay up to par with the apps. Its dumb to replicate the iphone, we see what just happened to samsung. Blackberry could the physical keyboard as a selling point by doing a commercial where someone uses 1 hand to do everything.

it might not be the iphone but you have to understand that theres people who don't care for those things and plus blackberries IOS is not slow if you get newer versions of the phone, but it will be slow if you have an older one so I think you need to test out devices before you talk about them

Blackberry is losing due to the things that make it better (i.e. security, physical keyboard, communication focus). I hate using iphones or androids because you always have to go to the home screen to change apps. The blackberry has always had a flow to it - you can always access a running app by holding down the blackberry key (sort of like alt+tab on the pc) and the physical keyboard allows for more shortcuts. The video camera on the current blackberry's are 5.1MP (way better than droid).

Seems like the same idea as Ubuntu Phone. Doesn't look the same but the same ideas behind it.
