I have bought food for the homeless as I would walk around Manhattan. One day I offered what I had to a homeless man, he said no. He demanded money. I said no, and asked again if he wanted my food( milk and some bananas) . He repeated no. I asked if he wanted something else? He said just money and I said I can’t do that. I am not giving money so they can blow it on booze and drugs. Now that day still has negative affects on me. But I have given food to homeless and to a man with a job who was carrying three large cases of water in the subway on a hot day. Gave him a can of still somewhat cold soda. He was greatly appreciative
