Artsakh Under Assault: Making Sense of the Escalation

Today, hosts Eric Hacopian and Patrick Elliott break down the ongoing assault on Nagorno Karabakh (a Artsakh) by Azerbaijani forces, with the direct assistance of Turkey.
On September 19, almost 3 years to the day of the launch of the 2020 Karabakh war, Azerbaijan initiated a large-scale military attack along the contact line and into civilian areas of Artsakh.
Ignoring international calls for peace, Azerbaijan's aim appears to be the destabilization and ethnic cleansing of the mainly Armenian populated enclave.
Eric and Patrick discuss the intensified bombardment of Stepanakert, Russia's contradictory role, and the West’s mixed messages.

Eric you are xactly right when Armenia does not back its peace agenda with strength then if Armenia says peace Baku sees weakness and asks for more concessions.

Cassandra was a beautiful goddess, so when she spurred Apollo's seduction, he decided on cursing he with the power of prophecy, but no one would ever listen. She would see disaster coming and try to warn people, but no one ever believed her.

What a terrible curse.

Enough is enough! Aliev started a new war! Either Pashinyan declares a war and starts protecting Armenian citizens or he must resign! There are no other options! He must rescind his recognition of Artsakh as a part of azerbaijani! Aliev started a new genocidal war against civilians in Artsakh and he must be stopped by all means! Pashinyan will not stay in power if aliev ethnically cleanses Artsakh!

Pashinyan is partly responsible for this, time to go

This is Russian trick together with Turkey.
To make strong hold in the region.
But Artzakh people must stay and fight.
And immediately demand the independence of Artzakh

Failure of artsakh is a failure of the diaspora. Too many G wagons and mansions and not enough done to help the mother country

For totalitarian regimes such as one in Baku, the biggest existential threat against them has always been people with pride and dignity, their whole existential survival of such tyrannical regimes, few still left in today’s modern civilized world, rely and depend on people surrendered to authoritarian repression and coercion, It is a fundamental threat for the Baku regime to have 120 thousand proud people, and hence when intellects and morals become scarcity, brut force and destruction what is left of what meant to be high minded humanity .. however, regrettably the South Caucasus and perhaps few other regions in the words were tyrants still have their remaining short breaths before being dusted under the old rug of history to be remembered as examples of dark chapters of human history …
It is very true, the direct threat for tyrants are their own nation to be liberal and proud, hence only military bras void from intellects… An arid desert or frozen Antarctica !!

How can you rebuild the military when Russia won't deliver weapons already paid for? They deny deliveries into Armenia?

This is all Russias doing, as demonstrated by their statements in recent years, especially recent days. This is an assault on Pashinyan, and love him or hate him, by default Armenia and Democracy.

Aliyev CLEARLY coordinates with Putin.

Lachin Corridor blockade is Russia’s punishment of Armenia and Armenian people, it’s a well coordinated plan with Azer*eijan having common objective along with Tur*ey.
