This year was great! Regardless of whether you like the mentioned shows, we had: Solo Leveling, Delicious in Dungeon, Kaijou No. 8, Wind Breaker, A Sign of Affection, Alya, Spice and Wolf, The Dangers in my Heart s2, too many losing heroines, 7th time loop, how to love your elf bride, the elusive samurai, jellyfish can't swim in the night, girls band cry, grandpa and grandma, doctor elise, weakest tamer, euphonium s3, train to the end of the world, and so many more different anime. There is no way you can say this year has been weak unless you were only watching shounen, and even then it wasn't that bad.

Edit: Plus, this year in particular was great for sequels. If you liked demon slayer, konosuba, classroom of the elite, mushoku tensei, mashle, reincarnated as a slime, oshi no ko, my hero academia, tsukimichi, irregular at magic high school, fairy tail, blue lock, or yuru camp, then you all got a new sequel or movie.

"Mahou Shoujo Ni Akogarete" AKA "Gushing Over Magical Girls" was practically the very definition of a standout anime.

Oshi no ko, Makeine, Monogatari, and Wistoria. Its an excellent season.

I don't know what people are smoking but Spring had some hidden gems with Train to the End of the World, Mysterious Disappearances, it had an actual well animated CG show with Girls Band Cry and that's not talking about things like Euphonium finally getting a finale besides shows like Konosuba coming back and big hitters like Demon Slayer and Mushoku Tensei. Is it the best year? Probably not, but it has a wider variety of shows than last year.

Also, Nokotan is 2024, all arguments are invalid anyway.

while I somehow agree with the year being weaker, this summer chart is easily a much more diverse and overall better list of shows for me to get into than the last 3 summer charts

The definition of stand out anime by gigguk is like the popular one like jjk & aot. This year there's many peak hidden gems that's actually better than those popular anime.
