Langton's Ants exponentially replicating and consuming '2020' #Goodbye2020

I use bitluni's ESP32 VGA solder kit to drive a VGA display and say goodbye to 2020. I've modified one of bitluni's ESP32lib demo programs to display the year 2020 as a bitmap which is then "eaten away" by a Langton's Ant - a very simple type of cellular automaton. The behaviour of the ant has been modified to spawn copies of itself after every couple hundred steps, thus resulting in an exponential explosion of Ants. This pretty much sums up how the entire year had gone - a tiny bag of chemistry had exponentially replicated to completely obliterate everyone's plans, and sadly many lives as well.

Looks nice. Reminds me a bit of the game of life but grows exponentially. I wonder how it can draw so much FPS.
