Friends Reunion: Why the Cast Says They'll NEVER Reunite Again

HBO Max’s ‘Friends: The Reunion’ special dropped Thursday and the cast, which includes Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry, explained why this will be their last public reunion. The special marked the first time the cast had been on the set together since the show wrapped 17 years ago, and they opened up to ET about how emotional it was.

I think this is the closure we've all been waiting for. The show ended, the story ended, and I think we have to accept the fact that we have to move on. We need to let them be their own self and establish a career with characters apart from the character they played for before. Thank you for being our friends.

Friends is more than just the characters, the set and chemistry between them captures New York life in the 90s, which is probably why they are so emotional since a lot has changed since then.

Little did we know the prophetic nature of Courtney's words. Such a tragedy losing Matthew so soon, especially when it seems like he was getting into a better place and a year before Friends's 30-year anniversary. RIP, Matthew. Thank you for your kindness you gave the world. Thank you for being there for us. RIP, man.

Is it just me or like the fact that Jen and David where really kinda feeling that passion and spark between them REALLY made this sad? Also when they where showing them when they where young and wrestling on the couch really made me bawl.

I think if they didn’t feel this way about each other from the start it wouldn’t have been so successful They gave us some great years and with reruns continue doing so. Best sitcoms ever. I wish them continued success in there lives Who knows what the future holds never say never.

My heart broke a little for Matthew Perry when he said, 'I don't hear from anyone'. This was in response to Corden's question if they kept in touch with each other. People say it was a joke, but I don't think so. They all laughed to hide the painful awkwardness of the truth. I think Matt has had a tough time with substance abuse and kind of fallen away from the group. Anyone else think so? 💔

It really makes you love the show on a deeper level knowing they’re still great friends with each other even after all these years. They have such a wonderful close bond, it’s so cool to see.
