Great video. For those that consider moving here consider a few points:
- There are almost no empty apartments for rent or sale. And those that are start at around 1500-2000 per months for 1 room.
- Citing an overloaded infrastructure, the city council has prohibited the construction of further living space until further notice. So the situation is more likely to get worse in the future.
- If you consider moving to the close by France, consider the long and daily traffic jams you will have to endure to get across the border.
- If you do not like crime, try to live on the side of Ferney-Voltaire/Gex, not on the side of Annemasse. For some reason and despite being just a few kilometers apart, the side of Gex is much calmer and has far less crime than the side of Annemasse.
- Meat is ridiculously expensive in Switzerland. DO NOT try to smuggle meat from France. You will be caught and fined a lot of money.
- If you want to party every day, go live in Lausanne (45 minutes away by train, also on the lake). Geneva is (in)famous for being a bit sleepy when it comes to night life.


Comment for point 3. Winter sports are technically not in Geneva itself. You have to drive some time into the surrounding mountains. Genevas winters are surprisingly mild most of the time.
for point 15: This is wrong. The TPG are notoriously bad and tardy. Before and during the pandemic they manage to be late very often. Hilarious because there was a traffic reduction of up to 80% during the months of March and April.
