It was really nice to see the candid interviews you had with these gents. I really liked hearing their stories of how they fell down the rabbit hole 🙂 Was also nice to see AstroFarsography is still doing well after his long hiatus. Thanks for the video mate!

I really had plans to visit PAS this year, but alas, life got in the way.
I find it really cool just how many astrophotographers who've taken inspiration from Trevor - myself included. What's even more awesome is that all of these guys are now paying it forward by posting their videos for even more people to be inspired by. Like you Luke, you're partially responsible for kickstarting me into building my own observatory.

Good to see the UK brigade get together and talk it up. It's a pity we don't have these kind of shows here in OZ, Thanks for taking us along Luke.

Interview me 🤪:
The best advice for new comers would be to skip all cheap equipment and save up for the best short focal distance setup. Ex: AM5, Redcat, cooled camera and/or Air, mini pc or Surface pro to run it all.
Also, I recommend you look at the planets and some other objects with your own eyes at least once thru your telecope because it's unforgettablely special.

My favorite part about astrophotography are the incredible sunrise and sunsets us astrophotographers are forced to witness during setup and break downs. Simply stunning views.

Something I don't like about astrophotography are the camera sensors all being rectangular and not round. Round sensors, sold by diameter sizes, would give us the full imaging circle of the scope and would also eleminate the need to rotate the camera ever again. Later, you could crop the image to any shape you want.

Another thing I don't like is the astrophotography community on youtube not being united. Some astrophotography channels have almost 700k while others have only hundreds. Youtube should unite us and we 'astro channels', should promotes each other on their channels so everybody can have 700k subscribers also.

Thanks for the interview Luke.

That was a great watch. Quite a few people have got into the hobby fairly recently which is quite interesting. Like Rob, I come from the 'Sky at Night' generation and have been into astronomy for 40+ years. I made my first 'telescope' out of Lego using my dad's shaving mirror when I was about 7 or 8 years old, didn't work very well as you might expect but it helped satisfy my insatiable curiosity.

Great watch luke, I don't personally know anyone who does astro photography so its always nice to watch others discussing their views on the hobby. It's really great to see so many channels on U Tube dealing with our hobby run by people who are more than willing to share their experience and what they've learned. One piece of advice I would give to begginers would be to just enjoy the experience, and don't get down hearted when things go wrong, and they will, just take positives. I find trouble shooting problems can be almost as rewarding as the imaging itself, and you will certainly learn more about your gear in the process.

Nice Luke. Really informative and appreciated. I onboarded Astrophotography barely one year ago - next year I plan to come to the PAS. If relevant I can shed light on my approach and what I in round one ended up doing and acquiring 👍
