Saxophonist Geoffroy Gesser and pianist Romain Clerc-Renaud open up their BRIBES duo to singer Isabel Sörling and drummer Yann Joussein. The music of BRIBES 4 is a great epic of short pieces tinged with insubordinate, sometimes aerial colors. The four musicians like toying with sounds that clash, entangling them to achieve uncanny results, both mystical or eccentric. Words — sung or spoken— conjure up landscape s of veil ed impressions , through which a wise kind of folly manages to bloom.

BRIBES 4 “Licht” is an original creation by the BRIBES 4 quartet: a concert augmented with a light and scenographic installation.

The four musicians, arranged in a semi-circle, are backed by the raw use of shadows and lights. At the center of the stage, totemic objects conjuring up images of early human civilizations are surrounded by obscure monoliths, from which splinters and waves of light burst forth.

The uncanny atmosphere thus created takes the improvisers further into a state of mystical and avant-garde trance.
