Israel-Hamas war: Blinken compares Hamas depravity to Isis ahead of visit

Antony Blinken has said the United States 'has Israel's back' ahead of a visit to the region as the Israel-Hamas war escalates.

The Secretary of State said he was 'heartbroken' at the atrocities committed by Hamas after they launched a surprise offensive on 7 October.

"Not since Isis have we seen this kind of depravity" he said from the steps of his plane.

No amount of deflection from pro Hamas supporters will justify the cruelty of killing women and babies in such a callous way. Not to say Israel also hasn’t done some pretty aggressive and cruel things through the years. Bombed Gaza with little regard for civilian casualties. But Hamas has gone to a disgusting low with this blood thirsty massacre. I usually try and stay balanced with this issue, but F Hamas. Just a shame Palestinians will suffer for it.
