Not sure she'll get an oscar nom, but she definitely made the film better. Her fear on camera was amazing, never overdone or silly. The classroom scene, when she first see's the grandma walking toward her, her face is fear. That gave me goosebumps like gangbusters. Music helped a heck of a lot too. This movie rocked and rolled, in my opinion.
