That's one of the finest and most beautiful guitars I have ever seen. Whoever designed it is a total genius and a talent. These are handcrafted guitars built in Japan and the finish, especially the thick electric blue/violet/green bevels is eye-popping. I wanted to get a black arrow but also one with such a striking iridescent finish. This easily makes a compromise between those extremities.
But the sound...Lord have mercy. Such a powerful and explosive sound complete with bell-like dynamics.

4 years later, the retail price has jumped to $6, 000 and you'd be lucky to find one used in excellent condition for $4, 000

Original series and e-ii are both hand made at ESP shops in Japan. The difference is that only luthiers who have worked at ESP for at least 15 years get to work on original series and customs while everyone else with less experience work on the e-iis like someone who has recently graduated from their luthier school. If you watch ESP Guitars Japan Factory Tour by Premier Guitar you can see them working on a bunch of e-ii models all hand crafted.

I have no problems owning e-iis but I rather see the ESP logo on the headstock, hell I'd rather prefer seeing LTD over e-ii. I'm just weird like that

edit: $6, 000 from american retailers, this guitar costs about $3, 800 from japanese retailers like Bigboss

im thinking in buying this arrow but the LTD model, but the EC 1000 Andromeda looks cool and the pickups seems thicker than the arrow. so.... dicotomy moment. Enjoy your machine!

I don’t understand why these ESP arrow guitars are made with alder body, do you think this guitar sounds better than an Esp eclipse? Stratocaster guitars are made of alder, i don’t think i could play a Pantera song with a strat

Great review man! How would you compare it in terms of quality and feel to the USA Jacksons that you own?

Have you tried the LTD version is there a difference?

You should pan the guitars left and right (100%) . Sounds weird when you have two Identical rhythm guitars in the center. Beautiful guitar and good tone though.

Congrats on getting that Original Series! I've read on either in the official ESP forums or guitar forums about these "flagship" models and how special and on a different level in comparison to the similar models in the other lineups. After watching this video, seems like there is something going on with the high end esp models.

I'd love to someday own an Original Series but I don't think I'd ever take it outside of my house! What about you? Will you gig with that guitar or keep it at home?
