subutai conquered the most land of all of history as a single person and general. Nobody else in the world has even came close to the amount of land he has conquered as well as the amount of enemies men he has killed.

Also subutai lived a full life and was never killed. He died of old age at the age of 73. Which is unbelievable for a guy at his profession at his time! The likely hood of being a war commander invading all the time and never losing a battle. He technically lost only one battle from Volga Bulgaria. The Volga Bulgars ambushed them on their way back to Mongolia after his soldiers were exhausted from murking all of russia.

They've already fought over 2 million european soldiers during their first europe encounter and they only went in the region with 20, 000 soldiers. Most of the battles they were out numbered 3 to 1 meaning most european armies they fought they had to fight 60k with the 20k soldiers they had.

They had already murked all of eastern europe with just 20k soldiers. On their way back to Mongolia they have lost over half their soldiers from battle but killed over 2mil enemies soldiers with just 20k. All battles in the first europe encounter the mongolians were outnumbered.

Subatai later came back to europe and wiped out the Volga Bulgars. Their whole tribe went completely extinct so even though he lost one battle against them he did not die and came back redeemed himself a few years later and killed their whole tribe brought them to extinction.

So honestly I consider him never losing a battle since he redeemed himself. He also never died in battle lived a long life died of old age while being the general that has had the MOST war campaigns! He was also most active in war campaigns as well. Even if you don't want to believe he was the best general of all time he was definitely #1 general who caused wreak havoc and most deaths everywhere he went.

Objectively Subutai was more impressive. Not to diminish Khalid but thats the truth.

Well subutai did lose one battle (an ambush) and Khalid ibn Al Waleed remained undefeated.

TBH that is a good case for Subutai. But the thing is when you say Khalid fought against the exhausted Persian and Roman armies, you have to remember that:
1- Despite the fact that they were indeed quite exhausted, they were still a formidable force to be reckoned with. I mean, Khalid's greatest victory at the battle of Yarmouk, he had 40, 000 troops while the Eastern Romans had 140, 000 (mentioned by Edward Gibbons). His greatest victory against the Persians which was battle of Walaja, he had around 15, 000 troops while the Persians had 40-50, 000 troops.
2- The Arabs also were quite exhausted. They had a bloody Ridda war were they suffered thousands of casualties. Including loosing some of the very important men in the state. Of course it doesnt mean that they had the same casualties like the Persians or the Romans but they still suffered allot. But yet after a year they immediately attacked both the Persians and Romans.

Why I would put Khalid ahead of Subutai is the fact that he himself used to innovate and change his strategies and tactics almost all the time. Unlike Subutai who took allot from Genghis Khan directly. Khalid was like Frederick of Prussia who constantly changed tactics in war based on certain circumstance's. He didnt had siege weapons or the armory like that of Subutai's army yet he still managed to defeat the 2 superpowers of that time. Subutai's empire was already a superpower built by Genghis khan. But Khalid's army wasnt even recognized as a big threat.

I would say Khalid ibn Walid was more bold general as well, He was as bold as Napolean was but possibly even better. When he was commanded to invade Syria after he dealt with the Persians, he had 2 roads to cross. One was through the northern side of Syria, but it had allot of garrison stationed. Another was through a harsh Syrian desert with no water, which would have been a faster task, but it was very risky He brought tons of camels and mad them drink allot of water, went to the desert with 5, 000 troops. He cut the camels stomach and took all the water they stored inside and drank it with their men. He crossed Syria from the desert without loosing a single man!!!

Subutai always had a larger force, he also had an entire force of mounted men unlike his foes, and the added benefit of having a completely different type of army. One that exploited the more common armies found at that time. (Foot soldiers, light/heavy cavalry) . From what was documented it’s clear khalid had more moments of genius than subutai. Who conquered more land and people ? Subatai, no doubt, but khalid was definitely the more skilled commander.

I think khaled was good warrior cause he spent 9 sword in 1 battle. But we are talking about who was the better commander. Yeah sure Khaled never defeated. But he fight against only romans in middle east. But subutai spent 73 years of his lifetime for battles of every corner of the world. Including kyzylkim desert and yellow river. Fighting agains many kind of culture technology including elephants, riders, chariots, martial art china masters and ofcourse full armored templar knights. In -40 +40 celcius he won china, korea, afganistan, pakistan, turkey, india, russia, bulgaria, armenia, georgia, poland, hungary, avars, volgars, cumans and kipchaks . And iran, iraq, caucasian mountain regions dagestan etc. In the end ghenghis khaan had best general named muhulai was popular than subutai. Mongols conquered half of the world in 13th century not like britains shoot 1 aborigen in australia and 1 natieve men in north afrika. And they call themselves biggest land conquerors 😂

Stupid analogy honestly. Benefited from 28 year war? The Arab Muslims themselves had to fight for 30 years and subdue Arabia 2 times. And had less equipments and weaponry.

Subutai made great use of medieval weaponry? Well Obv Sherlock he was freaking 800 years ahead which means he had far better equipments and military weapons.

Where as Khalid ibn walid, had Iron Age level of weapons against well armored and more numbered opponents.

Tactics were the same, both used mounted archery and light fast styled cavalry. But I’d give it to Khalid since he always was able to carry it out without a loss compared to Subutai who lost 2 times.
